Jonathan's Biography			Jonathan, out in the wild
		Jonathan is a recent transplant to Albany, and has been painting using computers since 1989.  Jon first studied art at the University of Miami, where he cobbled together a unique blend of visual arts studies into a degree in General Studies. Notably, Jon took classes in set decoration and costuming, along with architecture and film theory. The result is work with a genuine sense of time, space and story, and which evoke a reality the viewer can connect with. Following many years of putting his artwork second to his day job as a Systems Analyst, Jonathan took three years off from painting to pursue a Juris Doctor. Now, while beginning his law career, Jonathan has reinvested himself in his art career, and has begun showing and heading in new directions, notably working directly from life.
	Computer Art
		Jonathan's use of the computer is best understood as a form of painting. Jonathan uses a special laptop computer, which has a digitizing tablet integrated into the screen. He uses a special pen, which wirelessly tells the computer where on the tablet he is drawing, and how hard he is pushing down on the pen. Using special 'paint' software, like Corel Painter, the computer interprets these instructions as 'brushstrokes'. The result are pictures that are hand drawn, but employing multiple different kinds of strokes not easily replicable using traditional media.
